March Mania '25 | The Ultimate Basketball Tournament Returns to Detroit on March 30

Empowering Youth Through Sports, Education, and Community Engagement

Detroit, MI – The Austin Foundation is excited to announce the return of March Mania ‘25, an electrifying basketball tournament set to take place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at UD Mercy Student Fitness Center from 3 PM – 7 PM. This highly anticipated event combines the thrill of competitive basketball with meaningful opportunities for youth empowerment, education, and career development.

March Mania 2025 will feature a 3v3 basketball tournament with pool play leading into a single-elimination bracket, a three-point contest, and an exciting championship round, where teams will compete for the ultimate title. Participants will have the chance to win exclusive prizes from local businesses and more!

Beyond the court, The Austin Foundation is taking the tournament to the next level by integrating educational and career resources into the event. This year, March Mania 2025 is proud to partner with Level All, a dynamic platform that provides young adults with career exploration resources, workforce training, and mental health support. This initiative ensures that participants leave with more than just a game experience—they walk away with tools for future success.

A Call for Community Organizations

The Austin Foundation is inviting community organizations to sponsor a table at the event, promoting one of our Becoming Young Adults (BYA) pillars: financial literacy, emotional intelligence, adulting nuances, civic engagement, career exploration, and wellness. Organizations will receive:

  • Logo placement on the event website, social media, and in physical and digital event programs.

  • A dedicated table space to showcase their industry, share resources, engage with players, and promote programs that assist youth in college, career, or workforce pathways.

This is a unique opportunity to connect with Detroit’s youth and young adults and provide them with valuable resources and mentorship that extend beyond the tournament.

A Call for Community Support

The Austin Foundation is seeking to raise $10,000 to support March Mania 2025, fostering community-building, mentorship, and personal growth for Detroit’s youth. We invite local businesses, organizations, and individuals to get involved through sponsorships, donations, and in-kind contributions.

“March Mania is more than just a tournament—it’s a platform for youth and young adults to develop leadership skills, explore career pathways, and build the confidence needed to succeed in their future endeavors,” says Cydney Hill, President & CEO of The Austin Foundation.
